If you're anything like me, you're on a constant hunt for new music that you can work into your sets. But when do you make time to delete the songs that never get used? I personally try to cap my library at 20,000 songs. Currently I am at 17,169 total songs but always working on deleting (and adding).
I try to have a bit of every genre but as much of an open format dj that I consider myself, there are just some genres that I barely play. So why keep them? I think we all hoard music for the “just in case” moment that may or may not come.
My way around this is to just delete what I don't use and if the rare occasion ever arrives where someone requests on of the songs I don't have, streaming services come to the rescue. Apple Music, Spotify, Beatport and Soundcloud are useful tools with a solid internet connection but I'd keep them at bay. Everyone has a different approach so I'm wondering what works for you.
Feel free to leave a comment and I'll respond!
